Abstract:In this work, we propose a scheme for providing secure communications in low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks by employing rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) in the presence of a passive eavesdropper. The UAV acts as an aerial base station and serves multiple terrestrial users. We investigate the secrecy performance in terms of secrecy outage probability and ergodic secrecy rate under channel state information estimation errors over Nakagami-m fading channels. Numerical results corroborate the accuracy of the derived analytical expressions and indicate that the proposed RSMA scheme has superior secrecy performance compared to other conventional multiple access schemes.
Key Words:Channel errors, ergodic rate, rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA), secrecy outage probability (SOP), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
