Nan Zhou is a Master's Supervisor in the Department of Vehicle Engineering within the School of Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Vehicle Engineering from Jilin University. His professional background includes prestigious international appointments as a government-sponsored Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and as a visiting scholar at Aalborg University (AAU) in Denmark.


Research Interests:His primary research focuses on power battery safety management and control, as well as new energy vehicle (NEV) design.


Research Grants and Projects:Dr. Zhou has a distinguished track record in leading high-level research initiatives. He has served as a sub-project leader for the National Key Research and Development Program of China (MOST) and as a project leader for a Key Project of the Joint Fund under the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is also the Principal Investigator (PI) for an NSFC General Program project. In addition to his national-level work, he has spearheaded numerous provincial-level key laboratory projects and corporate technology development contracts, accumulating extensive expertise in full-scenario battery fault diagnosis and thermal management in cold climates.


Academic Achievements and Service:Dr. Zhou has published over 10 high-impact SCI papers in top-tier international energy journals, including Applied Energy, Energy, Fuel, and the Journal of Energy Storage. He has also co-authored several academic monographs and textbooks. Furthermore, he is a long-standing reviewer for these prestigious international journals, contributing his expertise to the global scientific community.
