Faculty Profile

Jiawei Wang, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, Faculty Member of the National Frontiers Science Center for Industrial Intelligence and Systems Optimization. She got her M.Sc. and Ph.D. dgree from the Technical University of Denmark in 2016 and 2020, respectively. She was a Postdoctoral Researcher, Visiting Researcher, and Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, Imperial College London, and Northumbria University in U.K.

Research Interests: My primary research interests lie in the economic operation of integrated energy systems, decision-making and optimization of low-carbon energy systems in energy markets, artificial intelligence and reinforcement learning methods, as well as their industrial applications in large thermal power plants, industrial park energy systems, and smart buildings.

Publications and Awards: Around these research directions, I have published more than 20 papers in international journals indexed by SCI, including more than 14 papers of SCI Q1 journals such as IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, Applied Energy, and Energy. I received the Best Conference Paper Award at the 2020 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (first author) and the 2021 IEEE Power & Energy Society Denmark Chapter Outstanding Volunteer Award. I currently serve as a Young Editorial Board member of the international journal Applied Energy. As a project leader, I have led a postdoctoral research project funded by the Danish Villum Funding and participated as a key researcher in several UK, Danish, and EU natural science foundation projects.
