Dr. Hadi Fathipour-Azar is a Full Professor in the School of Resources and Civil Engineering at Northeastern University, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Rock Mechanics Engineering from Shahrood University of Technology, Iran, where he developed advanced stochastic and numerical models to investigate the mechanical behavior of rock masses. Dr. Fathipour-Azar conducted postdoctoral research at INRAE, Aix Marseille University, France, where he pioneered innovative algorithms for the realistic modeling of particle.
He has held several academic positions, including a senior lectureship at Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria, and lecturerships at Sahand University of Technology and Islamic Azad University in Iran. Additionally, he completed research visits at City University of Hong Kong and Tampere University, Finland, where he explored state-of-the-art techniques in geomechanics research.
Dr. Fathipour-Azar’s research lies at the intersection of computational and experimental geomechanics and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on multiscale and multiphysics modeling of fractured geomaterials and physics-informed, data-driven predictions of rock behavior.
