Han Dong, associate professor at the School of Information Science and Engineering, Northeastern University. He has been engaged in theoretical research on doping and defect control to optimize semiconductor properties for the development of semiconductor optical chips for a long time. He has made important progress in key scientific issues such as wide bandgap semiconductors, doping characteristics of low-dimensional semiconductors, and development of methods for evaluating the charged defects in low-dimensional semiconductors. He has published 33 SCI papers: 14 SCI papers as the first author/co-first author/corresponding author, including 1 Nano Letters, 4 Physical Review B, 1 Nature Partner Journal: Comput. Mater., 1 Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, and 1 Nanoscale Horizon; 1 Physical Review Letters and 1 Light Science & Application as the second author. Google Scholar citations exceeded 2,700 times. He presided 2 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of the Youth Science Foundation, and 1 project of International Cooperation and Exchange. I have also presided over 1 general project of Natural Science Foundation of Jilin Province, 1 Open Fund of State Key Laboratory of Luminescence Science and Technology, and 1 Open Fund of the State Key Laboratory for Integrated Optoelectronics. He participated in important academic conferences such as the International Conference on II-VI Compounds and Related Materials and the National Academic Conference on Zinc Oxide and Related Materials and gave invited reports. He won the 2018 Natural Science Academic Achievement Award of Jilin Province for his innovative theoretical evaluation method for defect properties in two-dimensional material systems.
